Transfer News: Real Madrid closing in on Eden Hazard capture

Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard is reportedly closing in on joining Real Madrid, who will sign the Belgian international in a €100 million deal.

According to a report by Spanish publication MARCA, Real Madrid are inching closer towards securing the services of Eden Hazard in the summer transfer window. Los Blancos will sign the Belgian star on a €100 million deal, despite the fact that he has a little over a year left on his current contract with Premier League club Chelsea.

The speculation surrounding the future of Eden Hazard at Chelsea has become one of the longest drawn out sagas in recent memory. It is quite an open secret that Real Madrid are eyeing the Belgian star as a priority target to bolster their attack, with the player openly admitting to his dream to play for the club as well.

But, Chelsea have been desperately holding on their prized asset, although their bid to keep hold of him has not been helped, as Hazard has rejected three contract renewal offers. However, with the 2018-19 season being his most productive till date, the importance of the 28-year-old cannot be stressed enough.

In 45 appearances across all competitions this term, Hazard has a superb tally of 19 goals and 12 assists. But, as per recent reports, it looks like Real Madrid are on the verge of securing the services of the player on a long-term deal.

The Real Madrid attack has shown a desperate need for reinforcements, with Karim Benzema the only player pulling his weight in the final third. While Vinicius Junior has shown a lot of promise, the likes of Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio have been underwhelming to say the least.

To that end, adding a player who will not only share the load in terms of scoring the goals but also boost the creativity is imperative. And Hazard, with his style of play is just the kind of star that can potentially solve Real Madrid’s problems to a great extent.

It now looks like the La Liga heavyweights might have finally succeeded in their pursuit of the Chelsea superstar, who is set to depart from the Premier League in the summer transfer window. The report adds that Real Madrid will sign Hazard in a €100 million deal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, who are reportedly scouring for replacement options for the 28-year-old, are hoping their transfer ban can be postponed till the winter. For now though, it looks Eden Hazard is playing his final Premier League campaign, with a €100 million move to Real Madrid looming.
