Manchester City have reportedly joined the race to sign Adrien Rabiot, who is also a target for the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Tottenham.

According to a report by the reliable Paris United, Adrien Rabiot is inching closer to sealing his exit from PSG, having turned down two renewal offers from the club. The French international is the subject of interest from Manchester City, who have joined Barcelona, Juventus and Tottenham in his pursuit.

In what has become a long drawn out saga, it has become plainly clear that Rabiot’s time at PSG is coming to an end. The player has snubbed lucrative contract offers from Les Parisiens, the latest of which was worth around €10 million per year, including bonuses.

With his current deal at Parc des Princes set to run out next summer, PSG are on the cusp of losing a top talent with no compensation. There has been no dearth of interest in Rabiot, who has been in fine form in the early stages of the season, with the likes of Barcelona, Tottenham, Juventus and now, Manchester City keen on signing him.

At Barcelona, Ernesto Valverde seems eager to create a long-term midfield unit, which will perhaps also include Arthur and Philippe Coutinho, among others. With the likes of Sergio Busquets, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic on the wrong side of 30, the Frenchman is a viable target for the Blaugrana.

In fact, Barcelona had even lodged a bid for the 23-year-old this past summer, but PSG ended up retaining his services. The La Liga champions though, will have stiff competition in pursuit of Rabiot, with Manchester City emerging as suitors for him.

Manchester City were in desperate search of a midfielder in the summer transfer window, with Pep Guardiola looking to phase David Silva out slowly. But, the former Barcelona boss was unable to bolster his squad’s midfield unit, although Rabiot presents himself as a cheaper alternative to his targets this past summer.

Meanwhile, the likes of Tottenham and Juventus are in discussion with Rabiot’s representatives as well, and a four-horse race featuring Barcelona and Manchester City is setting up. Each of the clubs are ready to offer him a base salary worth €10 million, which is exactly what the player’s entourage is demanding.

Additionally, signing on bonuses worth up to €15 million are on offer as well. PSG though, have not thrown in the towel yet, and are ready to battle it out to keep their prized asset away from the clutches of Barcelona, Manchester City and others.

For now, Rabiot’s suitors stand in good stead, with the player reportedly ready for a new challenge. With lucrative deals on offer from each of them, it will be interesting to see which project ends up appealing the most to him, or if PSG somehow manage to keep hold of the 23-year-old.
