Paul Pogba is reportedly desperate to leave Manchester United this summer, and has agreed personal terms with Barcelona over a possible move.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Paul Pogba has informed Ed Woodward of his desire to depart from Old Trafford this summer. The French World Cup winner has already agreed personal terms over a £350,000-a-week deal with Barcelona, although Manchester United are reluctant to sell their star man.

The transfer saga involving Paul Pogba and the speculation surrounding his future has grown like wildfire in recent days. With just over a day left for the transfer window to slam shut in England, Manchester United could be sent into a frenzy, with Barcelona keen on signing the Frenchman.

The interest from Barcelona in the Manchester United superstar comes as a major surprise, with Ernesto Valverde already stacked with options in midfield. In fact, the arrival of Arturo Vidal means that the manager has as many as nine midfielders at his disposal.

So, it is hard to see how Pogba fits in the scheme of things, if he indeed arrives from Manchester United. However, reports have suggested that Barcelona looked to test the Red Devils’ resolve after tabling an astonishing player-plus-cash deal involving Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes, an offer that was promptly rejected as well.

Meanwhile, there have also been conflicting reports that Barcelona have not submitted any offer yet. Only one thing is certain – Barcelona are interested in signing Pogba this summer. While Manchester United are unwilling to part ways with the player, and for good reason, their hopes of keeping hold of him could have suffered a blow.

As per the report, Pogba is desperate to leave Manchester for Barcelona, with whom he has already agreed terms over a £350,000-a-week deal. The suggestions though, should be taken with a pinch of salt after the Blaugrana’s Director of Football Eric Abidal insisted that the club has not held talks with the player.

What does put Manchester United in a spot of bother is Pogba’s desire to leave just two seasons into his return to Old Trafford. Furthermore, Jose Mourinho is also open to selling the player, after the duo clashed at different junctures last season.

Barcelona could have a major advantage in pursuit of Pogba, if the report indeed is true about his desperation to depart from Old Trafford. However, Manchester United are unlikely to sell their prized asset easily, if at all. A captivating transfer saga that could blow up in the coming days, if not hours.
