Uruguayan talent Sebastian Caceres dreams of making a move to the Premier League after having lured interest from Arsenal FC.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Uruguayan wonderkid Sebastian Caceres, as per reports from The Sun. The 18-year-old centre-back, who is already flattered by the Gunners’ interests in his services plays for Liverpool FC in the Uruguayan league.

A native of Uruguayan capital Montevideo, Caceres has shown immense talent in the youth leagues and has been a part of his nation’s U-17 setup, albeit for just one game. His impressive performances have earned a promotion to the Liverpool senior side at the start of last season.

In fact, the youngster has made 12 appearances in the Uruguayan top flight last season, which is no mean feat at all, considering his tender age. Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool already sent scouts to watch over the teenage sensation in September of last year. However, Caceres is overwhelmed by Arsenal’s recent inquiry regarding his availability this summer.

He said: “This was flattering to hear this as they are a top team. I don’t know much about their new manager but I watch Arsenal a lot as I like the style of football.”

“To play in the Premier League would be a dream for me as my ambitions are firstly to play in Europa and then play a World Cup with the Uruguay first team.”

Therefore, it’s quite likely that the youngster would like to make a move this summer, following a series of impressive performances in his native country. Caceres did in fact once train with Feyenoord, but the Dutch giants failed to materialize a deal for the talented defender.

As for Arsenal, they are probably in for a busy transfer schedule up ahead, following the departure of the legendary manager Arsene Wenger. Newly appointed head coach Unai Emery has already signalled a lot of changes at the Emirates, having already signed experienced defender Stephan Lichtsteiner.

The Swiss international will provide a massive boost in defence, especially after the departure of veteran skipper Per Mertesacker through retirement. However, while Emery is focusing on strengthening his side’s defensive department through adding experience, it’s equally important to bring in youth exuberance at the club and that’s where Sebastian Caceres could come into the fray.

The Liverpool whizkid, known for his commitment and ability to lead the defence, could be an exciting addition to Arsenal. The 18-year-old has shown immense potential and is already a key part of one of Uruguay’s top teams. In addition, Caceres won’t even require a work permit as he holds a Spanish passport, making it easier for him to seal a move away to Europe this summer.
