Transfer News: Manchester City eyeing £100 million summer move for Eden Hazard

The champions could table a sensational £100 million plus offer for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard if his situation at Stamford Bridge remains unchanged.

Manchester City will no doubt strengthen their Premier League winning team ahead of next season, but Pep Guardiola’s side could sensationally try to bring Eden Hazard in the summer in a massive £100 million-plus move. According to The Sun, Manchester City are heavily monitoring his situation at Chelsea and could make an offer.

Eden Hazard has been one of Chelsea’s top players since he joined the club and certainly the best in the last few seasons. But in recent weeks there have been suggestions he might want to wait before signing an extension, and that will depend on the quality of players Chelsea bring in this summer.

With manager Antonio Conte’s future not a bother for the Belgian, he is waiting to see if his club are ready to show ambition ahead of next season and prove it with their activity in the transfer window. Hazard is entering his prime and does not want to end up on the losing side of things as well as desires to progress with trophies to show.

Manchester City, fresh from winning the Premier League with a record haul of 100 points, will undoubtedly be looking to strengthen their squad in the window. Although Pep Guardiola admitted they might not spend big, there is indeed a likelihood they would, in the case of a player like Hazard becomes available.

Manchester City have been looking to strengthen the appropriate areas including looking to bring in a midfielder as well as an attacker. The champions are thought to be highly interested in Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez as well as Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey, but Hazard’s availability could considerably turn their head towards the Belgian.

The report suggests if Manchester City are to make an offer, it could be to the tune of more than £100 million, as Guardiola would not want to miss the chance of landing a player like Hazard. In the meanwhile, Guardiola has convinced the board of the same as well as paying Hazard the £300,000-a-weej he’s currently demanding at Chelsea.

Hazard has been part of a struggling team which finished as champions last season while this season were only capable of managing a 5th place. Hazard may have an eye on the managerial situation at Chelsea as well as how the club responds in the transfer market.

Hazard has also been interesting to Real Madrid, and many believe it could be the Los Blancos who might try to prise him away in the summer. Manchester City’s arrival to the party means now that if Hazard decides to leave Chelsea, he’s got a difficult decision to choose between the two.

Zinedine Zidane of Real Madrid likes him, but on the other hand, Pep Guardiola’s side has his Belgian teammates in Kevin De Bruyne and Vincent Kompany, which could be crucial. Staying in the Premier League and continuing his progress, probably targeting a Balon d’Or could yet tempt Hazard and play a significant role if he is to move on.
