Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Wilfried Zaha, who is also being targeted by Tottenham for a summer move.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, Wilfried Zaha is starting to attract interest from the best clubs in England once again. While Tottenham are going to launch a third assault for the Crystal Palace winger, who is also attracting interest from Spurs’ Premier League title rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.

Zaha has resurrected a stuttering senior footballing career that seemed to be heading nowhere at Manchester United. Since rejoining boyhood club Crystal Palace though, the player is evidently back to his best, rediscovering the kind of form that saw Sir Alex Ferguson make Zaha his last ever signing.

The single most influential figure for the Eagles at the moment, Zaha’s pacy exploits have helped Palace immensely in their bid to avoid relegation. In fact, his impact for the club is so pronounced that they have been unable to win any game that the 25-year-old hasn’t featured in.

Having been such a pivotal figure for the South Londoners, it isn’t hard to see why some of the best clubs are looking at Zaha to reinforce their attacks. Tottenham have already attempted to sign the player on two previous occasions, and their bid to sign him is set to become all the more difficult, with Chelsea and Manchester City rivalling them.

Spurs did bolster their attack in January by adding Lucas Moura to provide a pacy outlet out wide, but with Son Heung-Min the only other reliable option on the wings, the need to beef up the squad has come up once again, considering Erik Lamela has never managed to convince at Tottenham.

Zaha is, thus, a viable target for Tottenham, although they now face stiff competition from Chelsea and Manchester City emerging as the latest suitors vying for the player’s signature.

At Stamford Bridge, Antonio Conte’s eagerness to reinforce his squad’s attack is well documented after the Blues failed to add any winger last summer. On top of that, with Willian being heavily linked with a summer departure, Chelsea seem prepared to step up their pursuit of Zaha, having monitored him for a long time.

As far as Manchester City are concerned, their interest in the player is possibly from a view to boost squad depth, considering Pep Guardiola was strapped for attacking options from the bench in the recent absence of Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus. Having failed to land Riyad Mahrez and Alexis Sanchez in January, Zaha seems to have become their latest target.

But, Tottenham are determined to beat Chelsea and Manchester City in pursuit of Zaha to make a statement of their ability to land their priority targets ahead of more illustrious rivals. The player won’t come cheap though, with Palace driving up his asking price following his renewal with the club last year.

The Eagles are set to command a transfer fee in excess of £50 million to at least recoup a big amount in his exchange in case they are unable to keep him at the club. While any of Tottenham, Manchester City or Chelsea should have no qualms shelling out the amount, it remains to be seen if they deem the price to be appropriate for Zaha.
