Chelsea are reportedly lining up Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea in the summer.
According to a report by Italian publication Football Italia, Chelsea are exploring the possibility of signing Massimiliano Allegri to take over at Stamford Bridge after the end of the season. The Premier League champions are expecting Antonio Conte to call it quits after the ongoing campaign.
Allegri is one among a number of highly rated Italian coaches in football at the moment, having overseen two extremely fruitful spells in the Serie A, with AC Milan and Juventus. With the Rossoneri, the 50-year-old won the league title in his very first campaign, before achieving even more success upon joining Juventus in 2014.
At the Allianz Stadium, Allegri has won at least the double in each of his three seasons so far while also reaching the final of the UEFA Champions League twice. Juventus are in the mix for the Serie A title once again this time around, but 2017-18 might just turn out to be his final season in Turin.
Allegri is, unsurprisingly, a manager who has been the subject of interest from several clubs, with the latest being Premier League champions Chelsea, who could be in the market for a new man to take the helm at Stamford Bridge soon.

The Blues have already achieved success under current incumbent Antonio Conte, who guided them to their fifth Premier League crown last season, while also reaching the FA Cup final. This season Chelsea stand no realistic chance of defending their crown, but could win at least one cup competition.
However, Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge has been under a cloud for the last few months, with the Italian’s relationship with the Chelsea hierarchy souring since last summer’s transfer window.
The manager was unhappy with the West London club’s transfer policy, and it has been reported that he will depart from Stamford Bridge at the end of the season. Chelsea are, thus, keeping their options open, with a number of managers being on the shortlist to replace Conte, the latest being compatriot Allegri.
The Juventus boss has previously iterated his desire to work in the Premier League, and Chelsea could just be his next destination. But, the Blues face an uphill task in pursuit of Allegri, with the Bianconeri unwilling to let the Italian leave anytime before his contract expires in 2020.
Any possible move for the manager now hinges on Allegri’s willingness to leave Juventus and join Chelsea, and it remains to be seen if he indeed replace Conte at Stamford Bridge before the 2018-19 season.
