Manchester United have confirmed the capture of French youngster Aliou Traore, who was formerly a part of Paris Saint-Germain.

According to an official confirmation, Manchester United have secured the signature of highly-rated French youngster Aliou Traore after months of speculation linking the former Paris Saint-Germain man to a host of clubs including the Red Devils themselves.

Aliou Traore joins on a free transfer from Sarcelles, having earlier enjoyed a spell in the Paris Saint-Germain youth setup. Juventus and Manchester City were both linked to him as well. But, it seems the reports of Manchester United being able to beat their neighbours and the Serie A champions to land the youngster has indeed become reality.

In fact, the player has already made his debut for United’s Under-18s in the Under-18 Premier League Cup against Wolves, a match his side ended up losing 3-2.

Under-18 manager Kieran McKenna threw some light on United’s capture of Aliou Traore and highlighted the youngster’s talent, stating that the player has been on the radar for a considerable time now and that the 16-year-old is currently in the process of settling into the setup.

McKenna told MUTV,“Traore is a boy we’ve been looking at for a while. He is a really powerful midfielder who likes to run box to box. He is very strong technically and is improving all the time. He’s a nice man and his English is improving. He’s settling in well with the boys and has taken to the club really well.”

It would be interesting to see how Kieran McKenna is going to balance his squad, with his current options a bit too midfield-heavy. Currently, the former Tottenham player has only Nishan Burkart as his pure option to lead the attack, while there also seems to be a lot of competition now for places in midfield.

Arnau Puigmal, Dylan Levitt, Aidan Barlow, Ethan Galbraith are just some of the names at McKenna’s disposal in the middle of the park and now Aliou seems to have joined the list. The 16-year-old will now be looking to vie for the places as United prepare for the FA Youth Cup tie against Derby County on December 13.
