Real Madrid have reportedly established contact with Kevin De Bruyne’s agent in order to scour the possibility of landing the Manchester City playmaker.

According to an exclusive report from City Watch, Real Madrid have began exploring the possibility of adding to their creative arsenal. Los Blancos have reportedly contacted Patrick De Koster, the agent of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne to gain an insight into the availability of the Belgian playmaker.

The report does iterate that while there has been no formal enquiry submitted by Real Madrid to Manchester City, the Spanish giants have made his agent aware of their interest in De Bruyne and the fact that they may choose to follow up with an offer in case the Belgian does become available.

De Bruyne’s career has been quite a story. Arriving at Chelsea as one of the up-and-coming playmakers, the player was frustrated with a lack of playing time and was ultimately shipped to Wolfsburg, where he came into his own. And a subsequent move to Manchester City has seen him become a world renowned creative midfielder.

Under Pep Guardiola, De Bruyne looks to be adding more to his game and his record of 5 goals and 10 assists in 20 appearances this season is a testament to the same. With the incredible form though, there has been an onset of suitors for his services.

Paris Saint-Germain were one of the parties that City beat in their pursuit of the Belgian and the French giants are looking to reignite their interest in the upcoming transfer window(s). Real Madrid could be a whole different ball game, though. Los Blancos are struggling to put up the numbers as far as goals are concerned.

And Zinedine Zidane feels the addition of a creative magician like De Bruyne could galvanize the entire attack. De Bruyne though, seems to have made his intention clear. According to the report, the Belgian is content with his life at Etihad and is not looking to move anytime soon.

There has been talk of the Citizens looking to open contract talks with De Bruyne and it sounds like the Belgian is likely commit to a new and improved deal in the coming weeks as Manchester City continue their brilliant start to the 2017-18 campaign.

De Bruyne is one of the focal points in Guardiola’s current system at City and the club is likely to pull out all stops in order to retain his services in Manchester. And judging by the report, the Belgian seems to share his club’s thought. Real may just have to look elsewhere to boost their squad come January.
