Jack Wilshere and Calum Chambers are set to be involved in Carabao Cup action when Arsenal host Doncaster Rovers at Emirates on Wednesday.
Arsenal will kick off their campaign for a first League Cup triumph under Arsene Wenger on Wednesday, when they host Doncaster Rovers at Emirates in the third round of the competition.
The injury list is growing with each passing week for Arsene Wenger, although the situation is manageable for now. Danny Welbeck is the latest player to be sidelined with an issue after the English striker picked up a worrying groin injury in the match against Chelsea on the weekend.
The early reports suggest that Welbeck is set to be out for several weeks, if not months, although Wenger has said that he will only be able to put a definitive time stamp following scans on the groin. The Arsenal boss also provided updates on Mesut Ozil (knee) and Francis Coquelin (hamstring) during his pre-match press conference.

“Danny has a scan today, we don’t know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the international break,” Wenger said, before adding, “Coquelin as well. Debuchy is coming back slowly. Mesut is training again, but for tomorrow no [he will not feature]. He has a little inflammation of his knee.”
Meanwhile, Wenger is expected to make wholesale changes to the side that started against Chelsea on Sunday, with a brand new starting eleven in the offing. Indeed, the Frenchman seemed to confirm the same, informing that a lineup similar to the one that played against FC Koln last week will be picked.
Wenger also said that Calum Chambers and Jack Wilshere are in the mix for Wednesday, “Yes, he [Chambers] will be involved against Doncaster. Jack Wilshere is involved too. Yes [it will be a mix], but it will be a similar team to the one that played against Cologne.”
Wenger had more positives to report on Wilshere as he said, “Jack has been consistent in training. If you ask me is he back to his full, 100 per cent potential, I would say no, but he’s not far away. The rest now can only be gained by competition. That’s why I believe that these kind of games are very important for Jack at the moment.”
Meanwhile, in the Doncaster dugout, Darren Ferguson has a number of injury concerns, with five first-team players missing the trip to Emirates. Alex Kiwomya (calf), Ross Etheridge (ankle), Mathieu Baudry (heel), Luke McCullough (knee) and Danny Andrew (knee) are all sidelined with short-to-long-term injuries and will play no part on Wednesday.
