Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are among a flurry of top European clubs that are reportedly showing an interest in Hoffenheim striker Filston Mawana.

According to an exclusive by Fotbolltransfers.com, a host of top European clubs are trailing Hoffenheim’s Swedish striker Filston Mawana. The centre-forward is reportedly on the radar of Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Juventus and several other clubs.

Filston Mawana is a 17-year-old centre-forward who joined Hoffenheim from Malmo FF on a free transfer in January, 2017. The player was slotted into the Under-17 setup, where he has flourished so far, with a return of 8 goals in just 9 games to date, with an average of a goal every 83 minutes.

The striker has also been on fire at various age levels for Sweden. The player has scored 6 goals in 7 games for the Under-17 National side so far and his prolific nature is attracting interest from various parts of Europe. Arsenal, Juventus and RB Leipzig had previously shown interest and retain the interest up until now.

Arsenal are always on the lookout for promising youngsters to add to their squad and with their present squad lacking a top quality striker – both in terms of current ability and future potential – the club is looking to add a young and promising striking talent to their squad at Emirates.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich though, are the latest clubs to join the race, along with Benfica, all of whom scouted Mawana over the weekend as Hoffenheim Under-17s played out a 2-2 draw with St. Kickers.

Mawana’s agent, Andre Filipe Jenaro, also confirmed Chelsea and Bayern Munich’s interest in the player, stating that the player has done well and given the right offer, the player could well be on the move in the summer.

“Filston has done well in Germany. Some of the clubs followed him during the time in Malmo FF. Bayern Munich and Chelsea are now following his recent internationals and Hoffenheim. The clubs are impressed by how quickly he has adapted and how good he has been the last six months.”

“Filston thrives very well in Hoffenheim, but of course we should not rule out anything. With the right bid and the right challenge, I think he might move.”

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern or any other club moves to sign the player in the summer. Hoffenheim could provide the fastest track to first-team as of now. However, the player could be set to part ways with the club less than a year into his contract with the club – one that runs till 2021.
