Michail Antonio’s uncertainty over his West Ham future will draw the attention of Chelsea, who were credited with interest in the player.

Manchester United and Chelsea target Michail Antonio has issued a cryptic alert to teams in the Premier League regarding a potential summer move after he refused to pledge his future to West Ham United when interviewed by Sky Sports.

When asked about the status of his contract talks, the England international said,”Right now, nothing is really happening on the contract talks”

“We’ll just see how things go. At the moment my head is not being swayed in any way. I just want to play my football and whatever happens happens.” When asked explicitly whether he would sign a new contract, he replied,”We’ll see.”

With the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea already expressing their interest in the player, the lack of clarity regarding his West Ham future will draw their attention towards a possible summer move for the player.

Since his arrival from Nottingham Forest in 2015, 26-year-old Antonio has established himself as an integral part of Slaven Bilic’s plans at West Ham smoothly completing a transition from full-back to winger and even upfront in strike in a matter of 12 months.

It’s this versatility in addition to his physical presence and aerial prowess that make him such a wanted target among the big clubs in the Premier League.

With an impressive tally of 8 goals and 5 assists in the 2016-17 campaign, Antonio has already matched his last season’s tally and has a total of 17 goals and 10 assists to his name as a West Ham player since breaking into the first team back in 2015.

His impressive performances even earned him a call-up to the England national team although he is yet to make his debut for the Three Lions.

The winger signed a deal just last summer which would keep him at the club till 2020. However, following his exploits this season there were rumours linking West Ham with another extension for the player after the 2016-17 campaign in order to ward off potential suitors.

With West Ham already losing the services of Dimitri Payet in unceremonious fashion, they’d hope to retain the services of a player as influential as Antonio as they look to recreate their eye-catching form from the 2015-16 season.
