Daniel Sturridge and Simon Mignolet are reportedly all set to leave Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp looks to shake things up in the summer transfer window.

The Sun have reported that Daniel Sturridge and Simon Mignolet are both set to depart as part of Jurgen Klopp’s overhaul at Liverpool in the summer, with the Reds boss looking to restyle his squad and bring in big names as their replacements.

Daniel Sturridge’s career at Liverpool has been a mixed bag filled with joys and frustrations. Signed from Chelsea in January 2013, Sturridge took to life as a Liverpool player well as he became an instant goalscoring hero for the Reds.

The 2013/14 season then saw him achieve the highest of highs in his career and was the one of the top scorers in the Premier League with Sturridge scoring 22 to finish second behind Suarez (31).

This season the injuries have stayed far away but Sturridge hasn’t been able to match the levels that once saw him being rated as one of the most dangerous strikers in the world. Sturridge has just two goals in 14 Premier League matches at a rate of 272 minutes per goal, not something you expect out of a top striker.

He has now lost his place in the Liverpool first team, with Roberto Firmino instead being favoured by Klopp as a false nine. And now it looks like his Liverpool frustration could be coming to an end, with Klopp running out of patience with the injury-riddled striker.

Liverpool might already have a replacement on the ready for Sturridge, with Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being linked with a summer to Anfield. And it goes without saying that the Gabonese can bring a lot of proven goalscoring quality to Liverpool, and will be a superb replacement for Sturridge.

Meanwhile, Sturridge is not the only player who looks set to be heading out the Anfield exit door, with Simon Mignolet also tipped to leave Liverpool in the summer. The former Sunderland custodian was signed in the summer of 2013 and his career has failed to take off to the next level since then.

The numbers paint a grim picture as well, with Mignolet keeping just 53 clean sheets in 166 matches, conceding 193 goals in the process.

And even though he has displaced Loris Karius as the first choice goalkeeper at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp seems to have had enough of his error-laced performances, and the Liverpool boss is now keen to get a top quality replacement in the summer.

Klopp is reportedly targeting Joe Hart with the Englishman providing a much more commanding and assured presence in goal. The Reds are now set to make a summer swoop for him when he rejoins Manchester City after the culmination of his loan spell with Torino at the end of this season.

However, Liverpool will have a fight on their hands for both their priority targets, with Manchester City and Real Madrid tailing Aubameyang, while Arsenal and Chelsea are in the hunt for Hart.

Liverpool’s owners, though, are set to back Klopp in his chase for his top targets, with a positive summer transfer window in the offing when the Reds could acquire up to six players. It now remains to be seen whether they can actually get their hands on the players they have earmarked as top priorities.
