Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi, according to reports.

L’equipe claim that Unai Emery is a fan of the forward and was interested in him before his £32 million summer move to Chelsea. They also state that PSG are on the lookout for forwards to boost their frontline, as the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer has left them with only Edinson Cavani up front.

They report that Patrick Kluivert has already contacted Chelsea over a move for the Belgian forward, after Unai Emery proposed a move for Batshuayi a few weeks ago. However, ]one stumbling block could be the fact that Batshuayi, who is a former Marseille player, may oppose the move.

However, while the report states that the interest from PSG is real, they also admit that Chelsea are uninterested in selling Batshuayi who only joined in the summer. PSG have an uphill task on their hands, especially as Batshuayi is still young and Conte clearly feels he needs time to develop.

Batshuayi has struggled for playing time this season. The Belgian has yet to make a single start in the Premier League, and has scored 1 goal and picked up 1 assist in his 12 substitute appearances. That is still not too bad, considering those appearances have totalled only 84 minutes.

The Belgian international has also made 4 starts in cup competitions with a return of 3 goals to show for his efforts. Those are impressive numbers, and it is clear that the Belgian has a prolific side to him which has clearly attracted a lot of clubs.

Batshuayi is no doubt growing frustrated over his bit-part role at Chelsea, and was said to have held talks with Antonio Conte amid reports of West Ham’s interest in the forward.

There were also reports that he would be used in a deal that would see Fernando Llorente join Chelsea from Swansea, although it was unclear whether he would be leaving permanently or on loan, but it seems highly likely it would have been the latter.

Despite L’Equipe’s claims, it seems very unlikely that Chelsea will be willing to sell Batshuayi to PSG especially as he has been at the club for less than 6 months. Batshuayi is clearly a more than decent talent, and with Conte looking to build his side for years to come, it seems more likely that Batshuayi will only leave on loan, should he leave at all.
