Pep Guardiola has said that Manchester City can be satisfied with their 2-1 victory over Burnley, especially as it came 2 days after they played in the Champions League

Sergio Aguero scored twice as a much-changed Manchester City side came from behind to beat Burnley 2-1 at Turf Moor.

Speaking after the game, Guardiola said he was satisfied with the performance:

“We are satisfied with this performance, especially as it comes just two days after Champions League” he said, according to The Mirror

“We showed a lot of personality in this stadium which, after Chelsea, is the best team at home.”

He also admitted that he had a lot to learn about the English game, according to Sky Sports.

“It’s difficult to defend against long balls,” said Guardiola

“All Premier League teams do well in this area and we have to improve a little bit the way we deal with those kind of actions – in Spain and Germany, it doesn’t happen.”

“I have to learn what we have to do.”

Guardiola left out John Stones and Ilkay Gundogan completely from the squad, and Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva only made the bench as City played for the second time in 63 hours, after drawing with Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.

Aguero had only just returned from a minor foot problem, and his all-important brace was enough to ensure that Manchester City are now in second place on goal difference, tied on points with league leaders Liverpool.

Dean Marney scored his first Premier League goal in seven years with a brilliant strike, but Aguero played the poacher and grabbed two goals, allowing City to see out a victory.

City now have a week to prepare for their clash against Chelsea, who play Tottenham Hotspur later tonight.
