Transfer News – Juventus set a €160m price-tag on Paul Pogba

The Italian champions Juventus have put a hefty price tag of €160m for any potential suitors of Paul Pogba.

The transfer saga of French talisman Paul Pogba took yet another turn today, with Marca reporting, that Juventus will only be listening to offers for their midfield maestro Pogba in the range of €160m. This is big news for the big clubs in Europe who are reportedly considering to make an offer for Paul Pogba.

Real Madrid and Manchester United are considered to be the front-runners in the race for the French playmaker., while Chelsea and Manchester City have also shown interest in signing the 23-year-old. Zinedine Zidane, the Real Madrid manager, has long known admired his fellow countryman and wants to make Pogba a priority for Real Madrid next season. Real Madrid already have a pretty impressive pool of midfield players which includes Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos. However, a signing like Pogba will take the midfield to a level worthy of the name ‘Los Galacticos’.

With Pogba currently going through a slump in form at Euro 2016 and having been benched for France’s Group A game against Albania, clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United would try and negotiate a deal with Juventus which is a bit more financially viable.

Juventus make preparations for the departure of Pogba despite unrealistic transfer fee demands.

Convincing the Italian outfit to sell their marquee player will take a lot of persuasion and negotiations as Juventus are very well aware of how valuable Pogba is to the team and the fans. Chelsea last season found it very hard to convince Pogba to join the London club even with an astronomical offer on the table during the January transfer window.

However, there is a reason to be optimistic for clubs pursuing Pogba, since Juventus have already purchased a midfielder, Miralem Pjanic from  AS Roma, probably to cover for the possible or as some may put it, the inevitable departure of Paul Pogba.
