Chelsea paying £40 million to end Adidas deal has Twitter speculating about mammoth new kit deal [Best Tweets]

Chelsea will part ways with German kit manufactures Adidas, the club confirmed in an official statement on Wednesday.

The two parties still had six years and £300 million pounds left on their contract, but have mutually agreed to terminate their agreement after the 2017 season.

It has been reported that Chelsea are set to pay Adidas around £40 million, in order to buy out the contract from Adidas.

The German kit manufacturers said that the termination of the deal is not a reflection upon Chelsea’s current form. However, fans on Twitter were not too convinced by that argument.

Some even suggested that Chelsea might have a massive kit deal in the pipeline, with Nike being tipped as the favourites to get the  contract. Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter.
