Chelsea will part ways with German kit manufactures Adidas, the club confirmed in an official statement on Wednesday.
The two parties still had six years and £300 million pounds left on their contract, but have mutually agreed to terminate their agreement after the 2017 season.

It has been reported that Chelsea are set to pay Adidas around £40 million, in order to buy out the contract from Adidas.
It’s going to be so weird seeing a Chelsea kit without Adidas on it

The German kit manufacturers said that the termination of the deal is not a reflection upon Chelsea’s current form. However, fans on Twitter were not too convinced by that argument.
Adidas say Chelsea deal not ending because of poor #CFC form, but because they want to sponsor fewer clubs (Man United, Real Madrid, Bayern)

I just want Chelsea with other apparell, most of Adidas design is too simple and not eye catching, next season’s the worst.

The Club are increasingly annoyed by the way adidas have been concentrating on United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus,

More and more reports that #Chelsea have a much bigger kit deal lined up + adidas want to sponsor fewer clubs, hence mutual decision.

Maxed out marketing budget + Chelsea’s poor season + Adidas’ desire to sponsor fewer teams = unviable contract https://t.co/H3l77o6pIo

Chelsea initiated talks to end Adidas deal early. They’re happy to pay £40 million termination fee. Much bigger #CFC kit deal on the way
— Kaveh Solhekol (@SkyKaveh) May 11, 2016
Some even suggested that Chelsea might have a massive kit deal in the pipeline, with Nike being tipped as the favourites to get the contract. Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter.
@business seems like Chelsea have a new supplier and Adidas wish to focus on promoting individual athletes more
