PSG Superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic Hints At Summer Retirement

Amidst all the speculation surrounding his potential move to the Premier League next season, Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has come out and suggested that he may even retire in the summer despite all the interest in him.

The Swedish legend recently confirmed that he will not continue with French giants PSG after his contract expires in the summer. This has led to a number of top clubs around Europe including the likes of Manchester United and AC Milan being linked with the former Inter Milan and Barcelona man in the summer.

However, in a recent interview, Ibrahimovic has came out and suggested that he may even retire in the summer despite all the interest shown by top clubs across Europe.

“Anything could happen next summer… maybe I’ll just retire,” said Zlatan, according to goal.com.

“Nobody’s thought of that possibility. I would prefer to go out at the top.”

The Swede however noted that there are still many factors to be taken into consideration before any decision regarding his future is made.

“When all the cards are on the table, I’ll see which direction I want to take.”

Too good to go

Most attacking players become less efficient and start playing deeper roles as they find themselves on the wrong side of 30. Zlatan Ibrahimovic though, like good wine, has only improved with age. He has played a pivotal role in the transformation of Paris Saint-Germain into an elite European club.

This season has been a momentous one for the Swedish legend. His contributions on the football pitch for club and country – helping Sweden overcome Denmark in the Euro 2016 play-offs and leading PSG past Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 – have already made this season a memorable one for Ibrahimovic.
