James Milner and Curtis Jones start, but Darwin Nunez misses out as Liverpool get set to take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Jurgen Klopp has made five changes to the side that started against West Ham United earlier this week as Liverpool get set to lock horns with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. There are no shuffles between the sticks, with Alisson Becker retaining his spot in goal.

The defensive unit witnesses a couple of changes, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas dropping out. James Milner and Andrew Robertson replace the duo as the full-back pairing. Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk continue to partner each other at the heart of the Liverpool defence.

Up ahead in midfield, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara drop out, with the latter missing from the matchday squad altogether. The Liverpool captain and Thiago make way for Fabinho and Curtis Jones, who makes a rare appearance this season.

Another player missing from the matchday squad is Darwin Nunez, who has seemingly not recovered from a hamstring issue. Mohamed Salah takes up Nunez’s spot in the strike partnership alongside Roberto Firmino. Harvey Elliott will fill Salah’s vacated post on the right flank, with Fabio Carvalho continuing on the left wing.

Liverpool Starting Lineup: Alisson, Milner, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson, Elliott, Fabinho, Jones, Carvalho, Salah, Firmino
