Manchester United Confirmed Lineup vs Liverpool: Cavani, Pogba start; Bruno Fernandes the captain

Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba are back in the side but Mason Greenwood drops out to the bench as Manchester United gear up to take on Liverpool.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made wholesale changes to the side that lost to Leicester City on Tuesday for the upcoming Premier League clash against arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The first of the ten changes made by the Manchester United boss comes in goal, wherein Dean Henderson reclaims his spot from David de Gea. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw are all back into the starting lineup for the Red Devils, with Eric Bailly the only player retained from the side that took the field against the Foxes earlier in the week.

Moving into midfield, the first-choice pivot partnership of Fred and Scott McTominay has been reinstated by Solskjaer for the big game against Liverpool. Bruno Fernandes, meanwhile, returns in the No. 10 role and captains the side as well, after a brief cameo against Leicester. The Portuguese international will be flanked by Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba, who are also back into the side after not starting on Tuesday.

Finally, Edinson Cavani comes into the lineup as the lone centre-forward, with Mason Greenwood dropping down to the bench, having started each of the lsat two games against Aston Villa and Leicester.
