Alisson misses out with an injury while Roberto Firmino is benched as Liverpool get ready to take on AFC Ajax in the UEFA Champions League at Anfield.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made a couple of significant changes to the team that started against Brighton at the weekend, for Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Ajax.

The most notable alteration comes in goal where Alisson Becker has not been selected as a precaution due to a leg injury. In his place, academy ace Caoimhin Kelleher gets the nod, ahead of Adrian. Joel Matip replaces Nat Phillips at the heart of the Liverpool defence, with the rest of the backline of Neco Williams, Fabinho and Andrew Robertson remaining intact.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is back into the starting XI, after making a substitute appearance against Brighton at the weekend. The England international starts alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Curtis Jones in midfield, with the latter returning to the lineup in place of Takumi Minamino.

Upfront, there is another notable change as Roberto Firmino finds himself on the bench for Liverpool. Instead, Klopp has gone with the trio of Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the attack against Ajax.

Liverpool Confirmed XI: Kelleher; Williams, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Jones; Mane, Salah, Jota.
