Arsenal ended their 2016 pre-season on a high as they beat fellow Premier League side Manchester City 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.
Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for City with an easy tap in, before Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi got his side back on level terms early into the second half with a neat finish.
Theo Walcott and Chuba Akpom added two more to the Gunners’ score, but Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho pulled one back for the Citizens, paving the way for a thrilling end to the high-scoring contest.
Despite City’s late surge, Arsenal managed to hold on to the lead, but defender Gabriel Paulista suffered what looked like a serious injury in the process.
