Chelsea beat AC Milan 3-1 on Wednesday evening in the first event ever to be held at the brand new U.S. Bank Stadium. New singing N’golo Kante made his first appearance in a Blue shirt and fans liked what they saw from the Frenchman.
Bertrand Traore opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 24th minute, but AC Milan managed to pull one back in the 38th minute through a brilliant Giacomo Bonaventura freekick. Both sides looked threatening in the second half, forcing saves from keepers Thibaut Courtois and Gianluigi Donnarumma on numerous occasions.
Mid-way through the second half, Oscar scored his first of the night after converting a penalty conceded by Milan’s Andrea Poli, who blocked a cross from Cesar Azpilicueta with his hand. The Brazilian added his second of the night in the dying stages of the game after rifling in a low shot from Juan Cuadrado’s perfectly weighted pass.
Chelsea fans were happy with Oscar’s performance, but it was N’golo Kante and young midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah who had the Blues’ supporters most excited.
Give Oscar credit when he plays well.

A mid of Kante, Chalobah and Fabregas needed.

I don’t think any Chelsea fan doubts the quality Oscar has, it’s just how many times in every 5 games do we see that quality. Simple as.

Beautifully worked by #Chelsea but unfortunately Ivanovic still can’t cross. Shame.

Batshuayi. Costa. Hazard. Traoré. Surely enough this season? Take those £50m+ bids for strikers & buy a top quality centre half.

#cfc end USA tour with a good 3-1 win over AC Milan…Kante already looks at home in midfield. Easily one of the best signings of the summer

Oscar+Ivanovic on at the same time. Some people are definitely having a meltdown on here. You know, those who always reply with ‘announce…’.

Kante was so dominant. But also notice how well Chalobah complimented him. Magic pivot.

@DeadIyDiego play him in cup games with Chalobah and Aina imo. Sign up two defenders and we’re sorted

Chalobah getting praised a lot by fans. Now waiting for our board to send him out on loan.

Kante is actually a player you can trust in the middle of that midfield. Absolute machine.

@ffsMarco @DeadIyDiego tbf with the current players, I’d give Chalobah & Aina a lot more chances than just ‘cup games’.
