Manchester United tracking Ismaila Sarr situation

Manchester United remain interested in signing 28-year-old Senegalese international Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace this summer.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Ismaila Sarr is also the subject of interest from Galatasaray. The 2025/26 Turkish Super Lig winners are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the final days of the ongoing transfer window, and they have their sights set on the 28-year-old Crystal Palace winger.

Per TEAMtalk, the Turkish giants have “made progress on the player’s side” after making an offer to him. However, a late deal remains a tall order, with Crystal Palace holding out for £50 million and Manchester United have not yet made a formal bid as of late August.

Ismaila Sarr and his time at Crystal Palace so far

Ismaila Sarr has established himself as one of the most dynamic attackers in the Premier League since joining Crystal Palace from Marseille in August 2024. The Senegalese international returned to England for a second spell in the Premier League after an inconsistent stint with Watford, and he has been a top-class addition to the South London club’s offensive unit.

While much of the focus has been on Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, and Jean-Philippe Mateta in recent seasons, Sarr has quietly made his mark throughout his spell at Selhurst Park. The 28-year-old was Crystal Palace’s best player this season, scoring 21 goals and providing two assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. Those exploits have alerted several well-known clubs.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Ismaila Sarr has been on Manchester United’s radar for several years. The continued interest makes logical sense, as the Red Devils are scouring the market for a productive wide attacker in the final days of the summer transfer window. While Marcus Rashford does not appear to be close to leaving Manchester United, they need more quality on the flanks after a sub-par showing against Hull City.

Sarr has thus emerged on Manchester United’s wishlist, with the club merely monitoring his situation as things stand. However, with the former Watford winger not training in the days leading up to Crystal Palace’s Premier League opener against Everton, his situation remains delicate.

With Crystal Palace steadfast on the asking price of £50 million, a deal will not materialise for a cut-price fee. However, Galatasaray may feel they have the upper hand in the battle for the Senegalese winger’s signature, as recent reports have claimed that he is pushing to join Cimbom in the coming days.
