Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham vying for Lloyd Kelly

A host of Premier League sides are angling for Lloyd Kelly’s return to the Premier League, with Juventus valuing him at €50 million.

According to Team Talk, Lloyd Kelly is a viable target for some of the Premier League teams, including Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham. The top-flight trio are aware of Juventus’ €50 million asking rate, with a left-footed defender thought to be paramount to their respective plans.

Premier League clubs are expected to plunge into the market for viable options at left centre-back. A left-footed player in the area is seen as paramount to the plans of some of the top clubs in England, with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all vying for a player of that profile.

Tottenham are probably in the most risky situation, given that many are predicting they could soon battle relegation, given their current position. Relegation to the Championship will be the worst possible scenario, but without Champions League football, they may feel powerless in keeping stars like Micky van de Ven, which could see them sign a replacement, as Juventus’ Lloyd Kelly is seen as a target.

The Juventus defender has made a mark in Turin following his move in January 2025 from Newcastle United. He had joined the Magpies on a free transfer in the summer before last, but the club saw the opportunity to offload him for a big profit, and they did finalise a deal with Juventus.

In Turin, he has been a big part of their season, but given the interest from England, Juventus might be open to selling him for €50 million. Chelsea and Liverpool are the other clubs apart from Tottenham who are showing an interest in the Bianconeri centre-back, although the duo may see him as an option rather than a top priority.

Chelsea and Liverpool to sign a new centre-back?

Chelsea and Liverpool were embroiled in the battle to sign Jeremy Jacquet in January, which the latter eventually won. The Premier League duo are now seeking a left-footed centre-back, as they are interested in Murillo of Nottingham Forest.

The Blues are looking at several other options, including Kelly alongside Liverpool, but neither considers the €50 million-rated centre-back as a top priority. Liverpool, for instance, are eager to sign Nico Schlotterbeck from Borussia Dortmund, while Chelsea will have other names, as Kelly could be a contingent option to their main targets in the position ahead of the summer.
