Manchester City have been linked with a move for 25-year-old Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo in recent weeks.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Manchester City are keen on signing Antoine Semenyo, and his arrival could spell the end for Bernardo Silva at the Etihad.
The Portuguese playmaker midfielder has been exceptional for Manchester City since joining the club in a £43 million deal. He has been one of the first names on the team sheet under Pep Guardiola. Silva has helped Manchester City win several trophies, and there is no doubt that he is one of the best players in the Premier League.
The experienced playmaker’s ability to slot into multiple roles and perform at a high level has made him an indispensable asset for the club. However, Silva is nearing the end of his peak, and the arrival of Antoine Semenyo could certainly force him out of the club amid Manchester City’s links with the Ghanaian international.
Bernardo Silva will not want to sit on the bench at Manchester City. He has been linked with an exit in recent months. There is unlikely to be shortage of clubs looking to sign him. He is still a very good player, and the Portuguese international will have multiple offers if he wants to leave Manchester City.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up. Meanwhile, Semenyo has done quite well for the Cherries in the Premier League, and this is the right time for him to take the next step and join a bigger club.
Semenyo needs a step up
The opportunity move to Manchester City could be ideal for Semenyo, and he would get to compete in the Champions League with them. Bournemouth will not be able to help him fulfil his ambitions and joining Manchester City would be ideal. It remains to be seen whether the Premier League side can complete the deal to sign the African attacker and find a suitable destination for Bernardo Silva in future.
Manchester City need more quality on the flanks, and it is no surprise that they want to sign the explosive Ghanaian international. He could make a big difference for them in the final third and add more unpredictability to the team. Pep Guardiola’s men are competing for the league title this season, and they are only two points adrift of Arsenal. Signing the right players in January could help them go all the way.
