Norwich City teenager Ajay Tavares has plenty of suitors chasing for his signature, including three Premier League sides and a European heavyweight.
According to Ekrem Konur, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City are all interested in Norwich City youngster Ajay Tavares. Barcelona have also entered the race for the 15-year-old Championship prodigy, with the Catalans likely to have an advantage due to their development system.
Ajay Tavares is steadily coming to the forefront, as he stares at a long and fruitful future ahead. The Norwich City teenager is only 15 at the moment, and has a long time to think about his future. However, there are some big teams keeping tabs on his development, which might see a few of those approaching.
Norwich City are aware of his growing potential in their system and would ideally prefer to hold on to him for considerably longer to see him sign professional terms with the club. However, the current standard set in the market is already seeing some of the big clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City register an interest in the highly-rated 15-year-old Championship prodigy.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are all renowned for developing young talents through their system, which could see the player make his feelings known about joining one of them. It’s certainly an appealing prospect for the 15-year-old Championship prodigy to make his move across to those big teams, but there’s another player in the mix.
Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Tavares in the near future, as they could make an approach to test Norwich City and the player’s resolve. The Catalans are known to develop top players through their La Masia academy, as someone like Tavares will be tempted to join in the ranks in Catalonia.
Barcelona have an advantage in Ajay Tavares’ chase?
English clubs can certainly bring in players of the age of what Tavares is right now, which is usually an issue for clubs outside of England. However, in Barcelona’s case, they are chasing the 15-year-old Championship prodigy on a level playing field, as Mundo Deportivo suggests Tavares has a European passport.
That alone would allow Barcelona to bring him to the club without Tavares turning 18, as they could play a major role in the chase for the Norwich City youngster. It remains to be seen whether those top teams, including the Catalans, advance with an approach of sorts, as Norwich City are likely to lose out on one of their top young talents.
