Tyrique George set to join Fulham in £22 million deal as agreement reached

Chelsea attacking sensation Tyrique George is reportedly on the cusp of joining Fulham in a deal worth £22 million in the final hours of the summer transfer window.

According to an update by the reliable Ben Jacobs, Tyrique George is on the verge of joining Fulham. The Cottagers have struck an agreement with Chelsea over a deal worth £22 million, with the 19-year-old homegrown attacker ready to sign a five-year contract when he completes his move across West London.

A report by David Ornstein on The Athletic has revealed that Chelsea will have a sell-on clause in the agreement with Fulham. Meanwhile, reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Englishman is undergoing the medical tests to complete his move to Craven Cottage.

Tyrique George and his career so far

Tyrique George is the latest highly-rated prospect to fall victim to Chelsea’s infamous hoarding policy. A graduate of the fabled youth division at the West London club, the 19-year-old enjoyed his breakthrough at the West London club in the 2023/24 season, and he was impressive under Enzo Maresca last term.

However, Chelsea’s aggressive spending in the summer transfer window means George has no chance of being a regular for the West London club in the 2025/26 season, having managed a lucky 67-minute outing this past weekend after Liam Delap picked up a hamstring injury. The situation has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs, with Fulham on the cusp of securing the English attacking prospect’s services.

Move across London on the cards

Fulham’s interest in Tyrique George is understandable. The Cottagers have been scouring the market for offensive reinforcements throughout the summer transfer window. However, they have not backed Marco Silva well enough, with the Fulham manager still waiting for his first attacking signing.

While several candidates, including Raheem Sterling, have emerged on Fulham’s radar, they have yet to strike an agreement to sign any player. That has changed in the past hour, as George is on the cusp of becoming the West London club’s second summer arrival after Benjamin Lecomte.

Fulham will fork out £22 million to sign the 19-year-old English attacking sensation, with Chelsea receiving a sell-on clause. So, while AS Roma and RB Leipzig have considered signing George, they must look elsewhere, with the young winger on the verge of moving across West London by signing a five-year contract once he completes his medical checks.
