Crystal Palace want at least €50 million to sell Marc Guehi

Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing 25-year-old English centre-back Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace this summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Marc Guehi in the summer transfer window. However, Crystal Palace will not let the Englishman leave for a cut-price sum, even though he has entered the final 12 months of his contract. The Eagles are demanding €50 million to part ways with him.

Marc Guehi and his situation

Marc Guehi is ready to embark on a new adventure and take the next step in his career after entering the final 12 months of his deal with Crystal Palace. The English international has established himself as one of the most dependable defenders in the Premier League since joining the South London outfit from Chelsea in July 2021, coming leaps and bounds in the last four years.

The 25-year-old has turned out over 150 times thus far for Crystal Palace while chipping in with eight goals and four assists. However, Guehi’s contract situation has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs, with Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

A man in demand

Widespread reports have suggested that Chelsea will look to secure a cut-price move for the Englishman in the summer transfer window. However, with Jorrel Hato closing in on arriving from Ajax, it is unclear if the Blues need another centre-back. Nevertheless, Guehi is a long-term target for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United’s interest in Marc Guehi makes sense. The Magpies are combing the market for a centre-back this summer, as Fabian Schar, Dan Burn, and Jamaal Lascelles are on the wrong side of 30. In addition, Sven Botman has struggled with fitness issues in the last 12 months. So, Guehi is a viable target for Newcastle United.

As for Tottenham Hotspur, the Lilywhites have signed Kota Takai this summer, and Luka Vuskovic is a long-term solution at the heart of the defence. However, Radu Dragusin and Cristian Romero face an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. So, Guehi is an option worth considering. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace will demand at least €50 million to part ways with the 25-year-old Englishman.

Crystal Palace’s asking price is reasonable, even though Guehi has entered the final 12 months of his contract. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Tottenham fork out €50 million to sign the English international in the summer transfer window.
