Manchester United in discussions with Nicolas Jackson

Manchester United may look to sign 24-year-old Senegalese international Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

According to an update by French journalist Sebastien Vidal, Nicolas Jackson is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The struggling Premier League giants are eager to reinforce their offensive unit by signing a striker in the summer transfer window. So, the 24-year-old Chelsea centre-forward has emerged as a target for them.

The Red Devils have already approached the former Villarreal attacker’s representatives to hold talks over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Chelsea striker will be the third offensive signing for Manchester United after Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Nicolas Jackson and his Chelsea story so far

Nicolas Jackson has come leaps and bounds since joining Chelsea from Villarreal in July 2023, even though his wastefulness in front of the goal has been underwhelming. However, the 24-year-old has made a mark with his work rate and well-rounded style of play.

The Senegalese international has turned out nearly 100 times thus far for Chelsea while chipping in with 30 goals and 12 assists. However, Jackson’s stock at the West London club has dropped after they signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. So, a summer exit may be on the cards, with Manchester United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Manchester United’s interest in Nicolas Jackson is understandable. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a striker this summer after Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failed to be prolific enough in front of the goal last summer. While Jackson’s wastefulness may be an issue, he has shown the potential to be a productive centre-forward during his spell with Chelsea.

So, the African attacker is a viable target for Manchester United, with the struggling Premier League giants contacting his entourage to discuss a possible move in the summer transfer window. However, recent reports have claimed that Chelsea will not sanction Jackson’s departure in the summer transfer window.

That is not the player’s stance, with widespread reports pointing to his growing frustration at the West London club. So, Manchester United may have the opportunity to sign the 24-year-old Senegalese international from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
