The Villans are keen on securing the services of Samu Aghehowa instead, and a report by Record via Sport Witness has claimed that they scouted the Spaniard in action on Friday.
The Olympics 2024 gold medalist has been outstanding for the Portuguese club, and he has 27 goal contributions they season. He could prove to be an excellent long-term investment for Aston Villa if they further their interest and get the deal done.
The West Midlands outfit need more quality and depth in the attacking unit, and the Spaniard would be the ideal acquisition for them. He could form a lethal partnership with Ollie Watkins in the final third next season.
