West Ham United have reportedly enquired about the availability of RC Strasbourg attacking sensation Emanuel Emegha.
West Ham United are in desperate need to reinforce their attack following an injury crisis at the club. With the deadline day closing in, the Hammers need to rush. The London outfit have identified Emanuel Emegha as a potential target to bolster their attack and according to a report from TBR Football, the Hammers have already approached RC Strasbourg to learn more about a potential transfer.
On the back of his impressive performances at Sturm Graz, Emegha joined the BlueCo-owned club in the summer of 2023 in a deal worth €12 million. He has taken his game to another level since joining the Ligue 1 outfit.
The debut season was not really that great but the 21-year-old has certainly come to life in his second season with seven goals and two assists in his 13 Ligue 1 appearances. The Dutch Under-21 star’s performances have put him on the radar of West Ham United, who are in desperate need of a new striker.
West Ham interested in Emegha’s services
West Ham United, who recently appointed Graham Potter as their new boss, are looking at ways to bounce back in the second half of the season. Their priority is to bring in a new forward following serious injuries to Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen and Niclas Fullkrug.
The Hammers did not even have a shot on target in their 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, making it quite clear that they lack firepower in the final third. While they have been linked with quite a few top forwards, West Ham are also looking at Strasbourg sensation Emanuel Emegha, who has been in red-hot form this season.
The East London club have already approached the French club to enquire about the availability of the 21-year-old striker. While the London club are quite keen on acquiring his services, Strasbourg are in no rush to cash in on him.
Chelsea might not be directly linked with the 21-year-old at this stage, but they can certainly cause problems for the Hammers. The Blues and Strasbourg are both owned by BlueCo, and the two sister clubs have often been involved in direct transfer deals. Given the kind of potential Emegha has, there are high chances that he could eventually make the move to Stamford Bridge.
