Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United keeping tabs on Zion Suzuki

Zion Suzuki is back on the radar of Premier League clubs as Chelsea, Manchester City, and Newcastle United are all keeping tabs on the Parma stopper.

According to TBR, Zion Suzuki could soon contemplate a move to the Premier League, following some impressive displays for Serie A side Parma. The Japanese international has the attention of Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United, as any move will be expected for next summer.

Japanese international Zion Suzuki has been impressing with some of his displays in Serie A side Parma this season, as he made the move back in the summer for £6 million. Before that, some might remember he rejected Manchester United before joining Belgian side Sint-Truiden back in 2023 from Japanese side Urawa Reds.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper is back on the radar of other Premier League clubs for this month or future windows. The Japanese stopper has Manchester City’s interest as previously reported, as Pep Guardiola could be planning for life after Ederson Moares.

Manchester City are open to making Ortega Moreno his first choice when Ederson leaves, and Suzuki could be the competitor in the background for the No.1 choice. Chelsea and Manchester United also retain an interest, with the Blues in particular looking for a new option between the sticks, although that requirement is not immediate for this window.

Chelsea are open to keeping one of their current stoppers and bringing in young talent like Suzuki. Meanwhile, Newcastle United might have moved for a new keeper had Martin Dubravka moved to Saudi Arabia. However, as per latest reports suggest the experienced star could stay put and see out his contract or even sign a new deal at St James Park, meaning any move for Suzuki might be in the future.

Will Zion Suzuki leave Parma this month?

Parma are not entirely out of a relegation conversation, although losing an influential player like the 22-year-old goalkeeper will hurt their chances in the second part of the season. Hence, the idea of losing him now would seem unprecedented, although a large enough offer could turn their heads.

As for Suzuki, he rejected Manchester United back in the summer of 2023 for playing regularly, something he has done in Belgium and now Italy. Meanwhile, the chances of him breaking into either Chelsea, Manchester City, or Newcastle United are remote, meaning he could continue playing at a club where he is the first choice and postpone a move for the future.
