Eintracht Frankfurt will demand around £50-60 million to sell 25-year-old Egyptian attacker Omar Marmoush, a target for Liverpool and Manchester City.
According to a report by Football Insider, Omar Marmoush is the subject of interest from Manchester City. The Eintracht Frankfurt striker is also a target for Liverpool. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga club will demand around £50-60 million to part ways with the Egyptian international next year.
Omar Marmoush and his exponential rise
Omar Marmoush has gone from strength to strength since joining Eintracht Frankfurt from VfL Wolfsburg in July 2023. The Cairo-born striker struggled to find his feet until he moved to the Deutsche Bank Park 15 months ago, but he has not looked back during his spell with Die Adler.
The 25-year-old was excellent in his debut season and has improved considerably in the new campaign. Marmoush has contributed to 24 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net 14 times and providing 10 assists. In addition, the player has become a regular for Egypt in the last few years, although he has not been as prolific in international football.
Meanwhile, Marmoush’s progress in the last 15 months has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Liverpool and Manchester City among his prospective suitors.
Premier League beckoning?
Liverpool’s interest in Omar Marmoush is understandable. The Reds are in a spot of bother over the long-term future of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian international has entered the final nine months of his contract and is yet to sign a new deal. So, Salah’s compatriot has emerged as a viable target for Liverpool, considering he can reprise any role across the frontline equally adeptly.
As for Manchester City, while Erling Haaland is one of the best strikers in the world, the Norwegian international might soon become a top target for Barcelona and Real Madrid. So, the Premier League champions should keep their options open, with Marmoush emerging on the wishlist. However, the 25-year-old will not come cheap, with Eintracht Frankfurt valuing him at £50-60 million.
The Bundesliga club’s asking price makes sense, considering Marmoush’s progress in the last 15 months. However, it is unclear if Liverpool and Manchester City are ready to cough up £50-60 million to sign the Egyptian international from Die Adler next year.
