Chelsea could be willing to sanction the departure of Mykhailo Mudryk when the transfer window reopens in January.
Mykhailo Mudryk has not been able to live up to the expectations since the big-money £89 million move from Shakhtar Donetsk. According to a report by Give Me Sport, Chelsea are now ready to cash in on the 24-year-old.
The winger arrived in January 2023 for a substantial amount of money, but he has not been able to establish himself as a key player for the club. The player earns £130,000-a-week wages at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea cannot afford to pay that kind of money to an underperformer.
They will look to get rid of the player and bring in an upgrade in the coming months. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea can find a suitable destination for him. The Blues managed to beat Arsenal to his signature when they signed the Ukrainian international, and it remains to be seen whether the North London club are still keen on securing his signature.
Mudryk will need to play regularly at this stage of his career, and he must look to join a club where he will get ample first-team action. There is no doubt that he has the physical and technical attributes to do well in English, but he has not been able to adapt at Chelsea so far.
Mudryk needs a fresh start
A fresh start would be ideal for Mykhailo Mudryk, and it could help him get back to his best and regain his confidence once again. He was highly rated during his time in Ukraine and if he can get back to that level, he could be a key player for most clubs.
Chelsea are unlikely to be able to recoup the money they spent on him, and they will have to accept a substantial loss and let the player leave. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can find a permanent destination for him. Sending him out on loan for the second half of the season would not benefit the club in any way.
The attacker has a long-term £130,000-a-week contract at Chelsea, and he might need to accept a pay cut for a move to go through. Very few clubs would be willing to match his current £130,000-a-week wages at the London club.
