The 29-year-old is waiting to join his next club after leaving Atletico Madrid as a free agent. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have contacted the former La Liga-winning defender over a possible Bosman move.

Mario Hermoso has seen his stock fall in the last few years. A native of Madrid, the Spaniard spent his formative years with Real Madrid but could not establish a foothold at the Santiago Bernabeu. Instead, he rose in prominence during his spell with Espanyol, with the stint bringing him on the radar of high-profile clubs across Europe.
Atletico Madrid signed the 29-year-old from Espanyol in July 2019, and he was a regular at Civitas Metropolitano in the last half a decade.
