The representatives of Manu Kone have reportedly contacted Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur over a possible summer move.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Manu Kone is ready to leave Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer transfer window. The Bundesliga outfit will demand around £20 million to part ways with the French midfielder. Meanwhile, Kone’s representatives have offered him to Premier League clubs like Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Manu Kone story
Manu Kone has come leaps and bounds since joining Borussia Monchengladbach from FC Toulouse in 2021. Die Fohlen signed the Frenchman on an initial loan deal in January 2021 before completing a permanent transfer in the subsequent summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old has been a regular for Borussia Monchengladbach in the last three and a half years. Kone has turned out nearly 100 times thus far for the Bundesliga club while chipping in with six goals and four assists. However, the French midfielder wants to leave Gladbach this summer, with his entourage offering him to Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.
Premier League beckons?
Recent reports have linked the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder with West Ham United. However, Fulham can do with a player like Kone after losing Joao Palhinha, who has joined Bayern Munich. As for Liverpool, they have parted ways with Thiago Alcantara, who has called time on his career.
The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder is thus a viable target for Liverpool. Meanwhile, Manchester United’s interest in Manu Kone is understandable. The Red Devils were keen on signing the 23-year-old Frenchman last summer before a move failed to materialise. However, with the links with Manuel Ugarte cooling in the previous 24 hours, Kone is an option worth considering.
As for Tottenham, they have loaned Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Marseille. In addition, Rodrigo Bentancur faces an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. So, Kone is a viable option for the North London club. Meanwhile, the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder will not cost a bomb, with the Bundesliga club demanding around £20 million to part ways with him.
Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham should have the funds to afford a deal worth £20 million to sign the Borussia Monchengladbach defender. It will be interesting to see where Kone plies his trade as his spell with the Bundesliga club winds down.
