Simon Banza and Youssef En-Nesyri have been keen on joining West Ham United, although the latter will likely move to Fenerbahce this summer.
According to a report by Give Me Sport, Simon Banza and Youssef En-Nesyri have been the subjects of interest from West Ham United in the summer transfer window. The attacking duo, who will cost a combined £55 million, is keen on joining the East London club, although the latter will likely move to Fenerbahce instead.
Simon Banza and Youssef En-Nesyri making their mark
Simon Banza has blossomed into a prolific striker since joining SC Braga from RC Lens in July 2022. Born in Creil, he has picked DR Congo as his national side. Meanwhile, he was exceptional in the 2023/24 campaign, amassing 23 goals and five assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
On the other hand, Youssef En-Nesyri has been one of the best strikers in La Liga since joining Sevilla from CD Leganes in January 2020. The Moroccan international has been a consistent performer in the final third, even though the Andalusian giants have struggled in recent seasons. And he racked up 20 goals and three assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Banza and En-Nesyri have captured the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe with their exploits for their clubs. West Ham United, in particular, have been keen on securing the services of the attacking duo, who will cost a combined £55 million in the summer transfer window.
London calling?
West Ham United’s interest in securing Simon Banza and Youssef En-Nesyri’s services makes sense. The East London club struggled for goals in the 2023/24 season, with Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen being the only productive attackers at the London Stadium.
With Michail Antonio and Danny Ings approaching the twilight of their careers and not good enough to lead the line for West Ham, they need two top-notch strikers. So, they have set their sights on securing Banza and En-Nesyri’s services, with bids on the card for both strikers.
Coughing up £55 million should be worth it for the duo, considering the quality they bring to the table. However, En-Nesyri will not join West Ham in the summer transfer window, with Fenerbahce reportedly on the verge of landing him. So, it will be interesting to see if Banza arrives at the London Stadium.
