Xavi Simons will not move to England this summer, with Bayern Munich his likely destination, thus handing a blow to Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are interested in signing Xavi Simons in the summer transfer window. However, the Dutchman has dealt a blow to the Premier League club’s prospects as he does not want to move to England, with Bayern Munich his likely destination.
Xavi Simons and his soaring star
Xavi Simons has seen his stock skyrocket after two exceptional seasons. The 21-year-old was a frustrated member of the first-team squad at Paris Saint-Germain due to a lack of game time and left Les Parisiens as a free agent in July 2022 before joining PSV Eindhoven, where he was top-class in the 2022/23 campaign.
PSG exercised a meagre buyback clause to bring Simons back to Parc des Princes last summer before loaning him to RB Leipzig. And the Dutchman was superb in the Bundesliga, contributing to 25 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net ten times and providing 15 assists. The youngster’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, alerting high-profile clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
A man in demand
Recent reports have pointed to Arsenal and Manchester United expressing their interest in Simons. The Netherlands’ international can be a top-class addition to the Arsenal attack, while he can be a solution to the right-wing berth at Manchester United, even though he is primarily a central attacker. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have been open to signing him on loan.
At Chelsea, Xavi Simons can be a long-term replacement for Conor Gallagher, who faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Liverpool might view the Dutch playmaker as a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah, who faces an uncertain future at Anfield.
However, the 21-year-old has dealt a blow to Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United by informing his Premier League suitors that he does not want to move to England. The Dutchman does not wish to stay at PSG either, with Bayern Munich his likely destination.
The Bavarian giants do not have an agreement to sign Simons yet but have made progress in the talks to secure his services. So, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United must look elsewhere to bolster their offensive departments in the summer transfer window.
