Barcelona might offer a package worth €65 million with a base fee of €55 million to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Nico Williams is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The Catalan giants have already submitted a bid for a part-exchange deal including Inigo Martinez to sign the Spanish international. However, they are formulating a new offer with a base fee of €55 million and €10 million in add-ons to tempt Athletic Club to sell their priority target.
The rise and rise of Nico Williams
Nico Williams is one of the best young attacking prospects in the world. A product of Athletic Club’s fabled youth division, the Spaniard has gone from strength to strength since breaking into the first-team squad at San Mames a few years ago.
The 21-year-old is now a regular in the final third for his club and country and has turned out twice thus far at UEFA Euro 2024. Meanwhile, Williams contributed to 27 goals in 37 outings across all competitions in the 2023/24 season by finding the back of the net eight times and providing 19 assists.
Williams’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Many Premier League bigwigs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, are ready to launch the offensive to sign him in the summer transfer window. However, the Spanish international has his heart set on joining Barcelona.

However, they are wary of a rejection from Athletic Club and have prepared a package worth €65 million to land the 21-year-old Spaniard.
