VfB Stuttgart are eyeing a move for Armando Broja as a replacement for Serhou Guirassy, with Chelsea ready to sell the striker.
According to Florian Plettenberg, VfB Stuttgart are eyeing a move for Armando Broja to replace Serhou Guirassy this summer. The Guinean international is expected to move out of the German side after a flying season in the Bundesliga, with Broja seemingly out of the picture at Stamford Bridge.
VfB Stuttgart want Armando Broja
There is a sudden frenzy of transfer merry-go-round in the Premier League with a host of clubs doing deals for young attackers. Chelsea are at the forefront as they are close to agreeing a deal for Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa and willing to pay £19 million. At the same time, Aston Villa are closing in on Everton attacker Lewis Dobbin.
Should Chelsea bring Kellyman and then follow through on their concrete interest in Villa man Jhon Duran, they will certainly offload Armando Broja. The Albanian striker is currently with his national side at the Euros. However, Albania’s early elimination could see him return to London to complete his transfer, possibly even before June 30 potentially.
After an underwhelming loan stint at neighbours Fulham, Broja is firmly in the market and is expected to be sold. VfB Stuttgart have entered the frame for the 22-year-old Chelsea academy graduate, as they could seek to replace West Ham-linked Serhou Guirassy, who also has other clubs chasing his signature owing to a modest release clause in his contract.
The one major stumbling could come in the form of Chelsea’s asking price, as Florian Plettenberg suggest a move within the Premier League could be more realistic. The Blues could ideally make him part of the current transfer merry-go-around with fellow clubs struggling to meet PSR obligations, as Everton are interested in Broja.
Further interest in Broja
Sticking to the Premier League, and apart from Everton, there is also interest from Wolves, as per the Journalist. There could be even more teams coming forward with their admiration of the Albanian, who also has AC Milan chasing his signature.
Overall, Broja may have offers that could suit his needs. However, in the current climate, Stuttgart are an attractive destination after the high-flying Bundesliga club made it to the UEFA Champions League for next season. Things could develop in the coming period, although any move is expected only after the 22-year-old Chelsea academy graduate returns from the Euros.
