Crystal Palace will demand at least £65 million to sell Marc Guehi, with Manchester United plotting a part-exchange deal to sign the 23-year-old Englishman.
According to a report by the Daily Telegraph, Marc Guehi is the subject of interest from Liverpool. However, the 23-year-old will cost a bomb, with Crystal Palace demanding at least £65 million to sell him in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the player is also a target for Manchester United.
A report by TEAMtalk has claimed that Guehi is an alternative to Jarrad Branthwaite, whose price tag might be too high. Manchester United are ready to offer a part-exchange deal to sign the Englishman, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka potentially rejoining Crystal Palace as part of the arrangement.
The Marc Guehi tale
Marc Guehi has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the Premier League since joining Crystal Palace from Chelsea in July 2021. The move has helped the 23-year-old go from strength to strength, with the youngster establishing a foothold in his national side in the last few years.
The English international has turned out 111 times thus far for Crystal Palace, chipping in with five goals and two assists. Meanwhile, Guehi’s exploits for the South London club have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs in the Premier League, including Liverpool and Manchester United. Meanwhile, the Eagles want at least £65 million to sell the ex-Chelsea defender.
A man in demand
Liverpool’s interest in Marc Guehi is understandable. The Reds are scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window after Joel Matip’s departure as a free agent. Guehi has thus emerged as a viable target, although his price tag of over £65 million complicates matters.
As for Manchester United, the Red Devils view the Englishman as a long-term successor to Raphael Varane, whose stint at Old Trafford has ended. And the Premier League heavyweights are ready to offer Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a part-exchange deal to secure Marc Guehi’s services.
With Wan-Bissaka reportedly a target for Crystal Palace, a part-exchange deal might help Manchester United beat the competition from Liverpool to Guehi’s signature. However, it will be interesting to see if the Reds sweeten the deal by offering around £65 million.
