Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City are all interested in signing Portuguese shot-stopper Diogo Costa in the summer.
According to O Jogo via Sport Witness, Diogo Costa could part ways with FC Porto in the upcoming transfer window as the Portuguese outfit need to raise funds. Arenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City are all interested in the goalkeeper’s services and could make a move for him.
Costa has come up the ranks at FC Porto, and he has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2019. The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength over the years and has featured in over 150 matches for them.
His consistent performances at the club level have helped him establish himself in the Portugal national team, and he is heading into UEFA Euro 2024 as their number one in goal. While Costa is busy preparing for the continental tournament, there is a lot of talk going on about his future.
His contract with FC Porto runs until the summer of 2027. But a move away from the club in the upcoming window is a real possibility. The Portuguese club need to make a major sale in the summer, and Costa could be one who ends up leaving.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City keen on Costa
FC Porto won’t let him leave on the cheap. He has a release clause worth €75 million and the Portuguese giants will be looking for a figure close to it. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City are all interested in the 24-year-old, and his performances at the Euro could convince them to make a bid for his services.
Ederson Moraes’s future at Manchester City is uncertain. He has been linked with a move away from the club, with Saudi Pro League clubs interested. And if the Brazilian international does end up leaving, they could look at Costa as an ideal replacement.
As far as Chelsea are concerned, they are not entirely convinced by Robert Sanchez, who arrived at the club last summer. The Blues are not confident about the Spaniard being their number one going forward, and they could look to bring in the Porto shot-stopper to take over from him.
Arsenal are soon expected to announce the permanent signing of David Raya following an impressive loan spell. But, they will be parting ways with Aaron Ramsdale. While Costa can surely be a great addition to their ranks, pushing for his services might not really make sense given his price tag.
