Bernardo Silva set to inform Manchester City of exit desire

Bernardo Silva might be ready to inform Manchester City of his desire to leave the club this summer for a challenge abroad.

According to Football Insider, Bernardo Silva is reportedly set to tell Manchester City of his desire to depart this summer. The 29-year-old feels he has achieved all he can in England and feels the time is right for a new chapter in his career as he plans on a move abroad, with PSG and Barcelona keen.

Bernardo Silva to quit Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has managed to convince at least two current Manchester City stars to continue their careers at the Etihad despite them wanting to leave for at least two summers now. One of them is Bernardo Silva, while the other is Nathan Ake, who came close to joining Chelsea in 2022.

Guardiola has reportedly managed to convince Silva to stay put for those two summers, and while that decision may have proved right for the accolades Manchester City won, the time may have come for the 29-year-old to leave. Silva had decided to leave the club some time ago, and now he’s set to inform the club of his desire.

Silva feels he has achieved all he can in England, winning multiple Premier League titles and even the Champions League alongside both domestic cups during his time at the Etihad. The 29-year-old is now ready for a new challenge in his career at a club outside of England.

Manchester City reportedly want at least £50 million to sell the 29-year-old as Guardiola will want to re-invest in a replacement for the Portuguese playmaker. A host of clubs, including Bayern Munich, are keen, although it’s PSG and Barcelona who are interested in the attacking midfielder.

PSG or Barcelona for Silva?

PSG are keen on Silva, as Luis Enrique likes his quality and feels he could fit in well with his ideas for the next season. With Kylian Mbappe now out of the club, there’s a need for prominent characters in the team, and the 29-year-old will add more creativity to improve the forward line and their output.

Barcelona have cooled their interest as they are not in a position to afford Silva’s asking price, despite suggestions the player is willing to take a pay cut to join them. The Catalans are a dream for the 29-year-old, although a move may not materialise this summer.
