According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Newcastle United are in advanced talks with 25-year-old English defender Lloyd Kelly regarding a Bosman move. Bournemouth have confirmed that the centre-back will depart from the Vitality Stadium as a free agent in the summer transfer window.
Kelly has a contract with Bournemouth which expires later this month, and he should prove to be a superb addition for Newcastle United. Signing a player of his quality on a free transfer would represent an excellent bargain, thus explaining the Magpies’ interest in him.
The 25-year-old defender has proven his quality in the Premier League, and he is versatile enough to operate as a left-back as well. It will be interesting to see if the Magpies can get the deal done amid their confidence and advancing talks.
