Three La Liga clubs are reportedly looking to sign 18-year-old Manchester City sensation Claudio Echeverri on loan in 2025.
According to via Fichjaes, Real Sociedad, Real Betis, and UD Las Palmas are keen on having Claudio Echeverri in their ranks. Manchester City are looking to send their midfield sensation on a loan to continue his development, and the three La Liga outfits have emerged as potential destinations.
Echeverri came up the ranks at River Plate at some pace, and he was promoted to their first team last summer. On the back of his impressive rise and exceptional performances for their first team, there was a lot of interest in him during the winter. Manchester City were keen on signing the Argentine attacking midfielder as they felt he could help them in the long run. As a result, they forked out €18.5 million to acquire his services and decided to let him continue at the Argentine club for another year on a loan.
Echeverri’s loan at River Plate will be over at the end of the year. While he is expected to join his parent club at the start of 2025, City want him to have a loan spell in Europe before joining the senior side. They want him to get enough first-team experience elsewhere before they add him to their first team.
Echeverri was expected to join Girona on loan in 2025 to begin his adaptation process. But, with the Catalan outfit qualifying for the next year’s Champions League, the plans have now been altered. UEFA regulations do not allow clubs with the same ownership to trade players which is why they are looking at other options.

The Argentine youth international could add a lot a lot of firepower to their attacks. He can score goals and will also help create chances for those around him. All three Spanish clubs have positioned themselves as candidates to sign the teenager in January 2025. While other candidates can also emerge, for now, Real Sociedad, Betis and Las Palmas are the ones keen to sign one of the best South American talents of recent times.
