Bernardo Silva’s time at Manchester City
Silva made a name for himself at AS Monaco, his impressive performances caught the attention of Manchester City who acquired his services in the summer of 2017. The Portuguese international has gone from strength to strength over the years.
He has established himself as one of the players in the world and has helped the Manchester-based club win multiple titles. He played a key role in their treble-winning season last time out. While everything is going fine on the pitch, the 29-year-old has had a desire to try out a new challenge for a while now.
There was interest in his services last summer as well but City ended up securing his services for another season by offering him a new deal. While the deal does run until the summer of 2026, it includes a bargain release clause of just €50 million.
Barcelona and PSG to battle for Silva’s signatures
A clause that any top team in the world of football would be happy to trigger for a player of his quality. Over time reports have suggested that the player has a desire to play for Barcelona and the Catalan giants are interested in having the Portuguese international in their ranks.
They feel a player of his abilities could do wonders for them. He is capable enough to feature on the flanks as well as in the centre of the park which will give them multiple options.
Meanwhile, PSG are all set to rival the Spanish club in their pursuit. The French giants wanted to sign him last summer and are expected to return for his signatures in the upcoming transfer window.
With the player ready to leave the English giants, it will be interesting to see which club ends up winning the race for his signatures.
