Liverpool in the mix to sign Viktor Gyokeres

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing 25-year-old Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres in the summer transfer window.

A report from HITC has claimed that Liverpool are keen on signing Viktor Gyokeres. The 25-year-old Sporting CP striker is on the radar of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United as well.

Liverpool will lead to bring in a reliable finisher in the summer, especially with the way Darwin Nunez has performed this season. Although the Uruguayan international has impressive numbers, he should have scored more goals. He has missed several big chances this season, costing Liverpool in the final third.

Meanwhile, the Swedish international has been in spectacular form scoring 36 goals in all competitions. He has 16 assists to his name as well. Liverpool need a reliable goalscorer like him, and it will be interesting to see if they can get a deal done.

Meanwhile, Arsenal need a quality striker as well and have shown interest in Gyokeres. Gabriel Jesus has been quite mediocre, and the Sporting CP striker will be an upgrade on the Brazilian international.

At Chelsea, he could replace Nicolas Jackson and lead the line for the Blues. Chelsea need a reliable finisher if they want to climb higher up the table. They have been overly dependent on Cole Palmer this season. But the former Manchester City youngster is not a natural striker and he needs more support in the attack.

Manchester United must look to sign another quality striker with experience, bringing Gyokeres into the picture. Rasmus Hojlund has done well after a slow start, but he needs more support in the attack.

Viktor Gyokeres would be a superb addition

Gyokeres would improve all three clubs, and he has the quality to thrive in the Premier League as well. He will add goals and creativity to the Liverpool attack and could transform them in the final third. The Reds will be hoping to win major trophies in the coming seasons, and players like Gyokeres could take them to a new level.

The striker is likely to be tempted to move to the Premier League as well, and the opportunity to play for big clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United will be hard to turn down. However, he is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition, and it will be interesting to see if the Premier League clubs are willing to spend a premium for him.
