Arsenal make approach for Joshua Kimmich

Arsenal have reportedly made an approach for Joshua Kimmich, with the German’s future at Bayern Munich cast into a big doubt.

Accoirding to Football Transfers, Arsenal have made an approach for Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich ahead of the summer. The Gunners are looking for a top-draw midfielder in the summer, and could target the German maestro, who may not renew with the Bavarians.

Arsenal in Joshua Kimmich pursuit?

Arsenal will look to win the Premier League this season and probably aim to go deeper in the Champions League, and probably win it. Mikel Arteta has created a solid squad, which seems capable of challenging for the best trophies available, with the Spaniard intending to add to this side in the summer window.

A new central midfielder remains high on Arteta’s agenda, and they have seen links to some top-draw names. One of those is Joshua Kimmich, with the 29-year-old likely to become a big name transfer story of the summer should he choose not to renew with Bayern Munich.

The 29-year-old Bundesliga utility man’s contract will have a year left in the summer, with Bayern desperate to renew hiis deal. Arsenal have reportedly made an approach for the midfielder, and should they succeed, it would be ironic considering how the Bavarians reportedly pursued Declan Rice, and now might lose their best midfielder to the Gunners.

In any case, there are other teams like Manchester City and Liverpool in the hunt for the 29-year-old Bundesliga utility man. Kimmich will have several sides chasing his signature in the summer, and should Arsenal emerge victorious at the end of the season, they will have a solid chance to sign the German maestro.

Arsenal’s summer midfield plans

Arsenal are about to make some changes to their midfield, that may see them bring at least one big name in the summer. One or both of Jorginho and Thomas Partey might depart, although Arteta might make that call in the summer, but they surely need to add a long-term partner for Rice in this upcoming window.

Martin Zubimendi, Douglas Luiz, Amadou Onana and now Kimmich are all targets for the Gunners, with each of those likely to cost a sizeable chunk.
